Should I Buy CBD From A Gas Station?

If you’ve been anywhere outside in the past year, you’ve most definitely seen a “CBD SOLD HERE!” sign in a place where you wouldn’t expect to see such a thing. Gas stations, grocery stores, cafes, etc… I know what you’re thinking: “Isn’t this a good thing? CBD is now available everywhere!” And my answer is, yes and no, friends. Absolutely yes, and oh boyyyyy, nooooo.

Yes, it’s super awesome that the masses are realizing the many benefits of introducing CBD into their lives! But, since everyone is becoming familiar with CBD, this means that the market for it is overwhelmed; even completely saturated with products, while business people jump on the CBD bandwagon. And… tsk, tsk… not all of these business people have the consumers’ best interests in mind (which is kind of the whole point of CBD – to help promote and support a healthy life).

Many of these brands, sometimes the ones sold at these convenient locations, are only in the business to make a quick buck. They sell it cheaper, making it much more appealing (everyone’s trying to save money somewhere, amiright?), but the thing with CBD is that the quality is reflected in the cost. Low cost CBD could mean that you’re not getting what you pay for. It could be a low amount of CBD, to possibly even none, duping people out of their CBD experience!

There are very specific requirements from the FDA that CBD and its many different forms must pass, including – this is extremely important – being lab tested and providing proof of those lab results. Businesses with quality products will provide proof of this testing without an issue, giving complete transparency into what is in their products to establish trust with their customers.

Other businesses selling it at a lower cost will slap a label on their products claiming that it’s been tested to appease the FDA, but the label will not reflect what’s actually inside of the product. If testing has not been done properly, there is a chance that it may contain more THC than what is legal for a CBD product to contain (which is 0.3% or less), therefore possibly leading to failed drug tests.

This is not to say that legitimate CBD companies are not also infiltrating gas stations and grocery stores with their superior products. In fact, that is the case in many places, which is spectacular because it helps refute the bad reputation other companies of lesser quality have helped stamp onto CBD’s name. We definitely support this!

Moral of the story, my lil’ CBD enthusiasts: Always do your research and BE AWARE! Also, don’t skimp out on quality products for something cheaper. There is a large chance that you will be left unsatisfied, and the letters CBD will leave a bad taste in your mouth. You deserve the best CBD experience that you can get and researching your brands will get you further ahead in knowing the type of product that will work for you and your body.
