CBD and the Pechoti Method

CBD and the Pechoti Method

It’s pretty common knowledge that CBD is exploding all across the world right now, which as a CBD and superfood company, we are STOKED about! But while the popularity of CBD roars, so does misinformation about the effects of CBD and different ways to take it. It seems to be that the latest misconception is using CBD oil through the Pechoti Method is the fastest way to reap in the benefits found in CBD.

And what is the Pechoti Method?

I’m so glad you asked!

The Pechoti Method is where one takes oil and puts it into their belly button in hopes that the many nerves inside will absorb the oil quickly. As someone who cringes at belly buttons: YIKES! And as someone who is curious about the weird forms of taking CBD: INTERESTING!

Now, the Pechoti Method itself isn’t necessarily a bad idea. In fact, it’s been around for hundreds and hundreds of years, stemming from Ancient India, and has acted as a spiritual and physical connection with the body. The Pechoti gland in your belly button is supposed to act as the middleman. The idea is that you absorbed nutrients through your umbilical cord while you were in the womb, and that you can use the gland left from your umbilical cord to absorb the CBD.

BUT… there’s no verified proof that this gland exists. There has been no research on it, except for one or two studies, and after scouring the internet it’s pretty much just speculation and faith in the method that surrounds it at this point. Once your umbilical cord is cut off, the flow of nutrients and fluids between you and your mother stops, and what remains are just hard ligaments and skin tissue in your belly button. The most that CBD could possibly do is interact with the skin receptors, but even with that there has not been much research.

We’re not here to shun ancient rituals, but as firm believers in research and case studies, we want to make sure that our customers receive the best CBD experience that they can get without following a myth that might get them nowhere or an unsatisfying result.

There are much more effective and verified ways to take CBD. With oil/tincture, the typical fastest way is to apply CBD oil underneath your tongue.

Pechoti Method Verdict:

While the urge may be strong, please refrain from putting anything in or around your belly button unless instructed to do so by your doctor. The Pechoti Method isn’t necessarily as harmful as other false ways to use CBD, but it’s still not quite a legit method and should not be taken as such.

As always, my lil CBD enthusiasts, DO YA RESEARCH! And don’t believe everything you read on the internet, especially when it involves experimenting with your body.
